Lake Stevens is best known for its abundance of kokanee, yellow perch and bass. Kokanee populations are kept in check by annual stocking program determined by Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife. Rainbow trout fingerlings are also stocked yearly to maintain the fishery. The yellow perch numbers are high, and 30 to 40 fish days are not uncommon. Anglers can enjoy catching yellow perch up to 14". Largemouth and smallmouth bass are also present, but smallmouth bass far outnumber the largemouth bass here. Smallmouth bass population in Lake Stevens is great with many fish in the 3 pound range available. Lake Stevens is also the home of Dick Nite lures, a few short blocks from the boat ramp. Dick Nite Lures are very popular with anglers who target kokanee and rainbow trout on Lake Stevens.
