Austria at 1:250,000 on three large detailed road maps from Freytag & Berndt sold as a set, with good presentation of the country's topography, towns and villages worth visiting highlighted, and an index with post codes.
The country is presented on three separate overlapping maps. Coverage on the Tyrol sheet includes the German Alps and the Dolomites, extending south beyond Bolzano. Excellent relief shading presents the topography, with plenty of names of individual mountain ranges, valleys, peaks, etc.
Finely graded presentation of the road network shows driving distances on many small local roads. The map also indicates roads closed to motorized traffic, not suitable for caravans, or closed during winter. Scenic roads are highlighted and special tourist routes are named. Railway lines are shown with stations and various types of mountain transport (cable car lines, etc) are marked.
Picturesque towns and villages are highlighted and symbols mark locations of various other places of interest. The maps have latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 10'. The index is on the reverse. Multilingual map legend includes English.
